Imperial Valley Community Foundation Sets up IV Regional Disaster Fund
The Imperial Valley Community Foundation (IVCF) Board of Directors has established the Imperial Valley Regional Disaster Fund, aimed to raise funds to assist recovery efforts in Imperial County.
The 7.2 magnitude earthquake that took place on April 4, 2010 caused nearly $100 million in damages to the local community. The goal of the Fund is to raise $1 million to be awarded to 501(c)3 organizations who provide disaster relief services in the Imperial Valley. These grants will be awarded based on need, priority and application. Only qualified organziations who provide a record of efficient operations will be considered for these grants.
